Spin a little child around the room and when you stop almost every child will go ‘More’ They don’t want the fun, the joy to stop.
But sadly most of us adults have forgotten the importance of joy!
It's all too easy to get caught up in the never-ending to-do lists, obligations, and responsibilities. We often find ourselves navigating through a sea of tasks and commitments, sometimes forgetting to prioritize the one thing that truly matters — our own joy.
What if embracing joy became a guiding principle in how we approach our lives each and every day?
In a world that often emphasizes productivity and efficiency above all else, the concept of doing more of what brings you joy might seem frivolous or self-indulgent. The truth is quite the opposite. Prioritizing joy isn't about shirking responsibilities or ignoring the realities of life; it's about recognizing the importance of our emotional well-being and nurturing our spirits along the way.
So, what does it mean to do more of what brings you joy? It's different for everyone, as joy is a deeply personal experience. For some, it might mean spending quality time with loved ones, immersing oneself in nature, or pursuing creative passions. For others, it could be as simple as savoring a delicious meal, practicing mindfulness, or indulging in a favorite hobby.
The key is to identify those activities, experiences, and relationships that light you up from within and make your heart sing. These are the things that energize you, replenish your spirit, and remind you of what truly matters in life.
But why is it so important to prioritize joy? The answer lies in the profound impact that joy has on our overall well-being. When we make time for the things that bring us joy, we nourish our souls and cultivate a sense of fulfillment and contentment.
Prioritizing joy can have ripple effects that extend far beyond our own lives. When we are filled with joy and positivity, we become beacons of light for those around us, spreading happiness and inspiration wherever we go. In this way, embracing joy isn't just an act of self-care; it's a gift that we can share with the world.
Let’s acknowledge that life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. There will inevitably be moments of struggle, pain, and adversity. But even in the darkest of times, there is still room for joy. In fact, it is often during these challenging moments that the power of joy becomes most evident, serving as a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
So, as we navigate the complexities of life, let us remember to prioritize joy. Let us make time for the things that bring us happiness, fulfillment, and meaning. Whether it's a quiet moment of reflection, a spontaneous adventure, or a heartfelt conversation with a loved one, let us embrace joy in all its forms and do more of what brings us joy.
After all, life is too short to be anything but joyful.

You know how every once in a while you do something and the little voice inside says, “There. That’s it. That’s why you’re here.” …and you get a warm glow in your heart because you know it’s true? Do more of that.
